Readyblock system

The system ReadyBlock aluminum has been designed for build walls with glass blocks up to a maximum recommended surface area of five square meters simply and quickly, without the need for qualified personnel or the use of mortar, which enables clean and tidy environments.

Furthermore, these walls built with ReadyBlock provide, immediately, once finished, an idea of elegance and robustness thanks to the use of the new aluminum perimeter profile, from silicona ReadySil y to the small dimensions of the joints, only 2 mm.

The ReadyBlock system can be used both indoors and outdoors; for example, like shower screen, where it is also possible to combine the glass block terminals so that both can be seen, either in portrait or landscape mode.

The ReadyBlock system can be used with various sizes of glass blocks. It is important to remember that the measurement of the wall opening must always be greater by at least 5 mm. with respect to the measurement of the dimensional scheme found in the instructions.

The ReadyBlock system can be used both with the perimeter profile (recommended choice) and even using only the horizontal profiles, vertical separations and lateral hooks. Depending on the type of assembly chosen, find out the measurements of the walls in order to determine the necessary material. Our technical department is at your disposal for any questions or clarifications.

YOU WILL NEED
Gloves, metal saw, meter, level, drill and bit, galvanized screws, silicone gun, screwdriver, rubber mallet, bucket of water, glass cleaner and sponge.

PRELIMINARY WORK
– Cut the horizontal profiles ARS-L.. with 6 mm. less than the gap between the perimeter profiles.
– Carefully check that the profiles and blocks are clean before installation.
– Check: maximum recommended width = 240 cm. / recommended maximum height = 240 cm.

Installation of glass blocks

1

readyblock-instalacion-01

Assemble the horizontal perimeter profile with the two vertical perimeter profiles and also with the horizontal perimeter profile of the upper part of our wall using the supplied metal brackets. It is not necessary to screw the brackets to the perimeter profiles, but, in any case, for greater security they can be screwed. Once the 2 vertical perimeter profiles have been assembled with the two horizontal perimeter profiles and the 4 squares, the perimeter structure of our glass block wall will have been formed. At this point we will insert it into the hole in the wall. The wall opening should be approximately 1cm larger than our ReadyBlock aluminum frame.

2

Screw the horizontal perimeter profile to the bottom of the wall opening and anchor it with flat head screws every 40/50 cm. At the same time, also screw the two vertical profiles up to about 50 cm high. Then, before placing the second row of glass blocks, we will proceed to fix the two vertical profiles and continue every two rows until we reach the desired height.

3

Use wooden reinforcements, if necessary, in order to avoid deterioration of the perimeter profile during its anchoring.

4

readyblock-instalacion-02

Make sure that the bottom profile and the two sides are level.

5

readyblock-instalacion-04

Place the first glass block on one end, without silicone, on the horizontal and vertical profile of the first row.

Apply a line of silicone to the side of the block and then glue the vertical gap to the block by applying silicone to the outside of the block.

7

readyblock-instalacion-07

Continue placing blocks with vertical separations and silicone until the first row is finished, repeating steps 5 and 6.

8

readyblock-instalacion-08

Apply silicone to the top of all the glass blocks in the first row.

9

readyblock-instalacion-09

Position a horizontal profile on top of the first row of glass blocks on both sides with the two ARS-E01 hooks and fix them to the two vertical profiles. Then, screw the horizontal profile to the two vertical perimeter profiles using the ARS-E01 hooks.

10

readyblock-instalacion-07

Repeat steps 5, 6, 7, and 8 until you have installed the second to last block in the row. Frequently check the correct alignment of the vertical joints. Screw the ARS-E01 exchangers.

11

readyblock-instalacion-11

Slide your last block down between the previous block and the edge of the perimeter profile and check that the row is straight.

Apply silicone to the top of all the glass blocks in the first row.

13

readyblock-instalacion-09

Position the horizontal profile and secure it to both ends with the ARS-E01 hooks. Apply the ReadySil silicone on the three surfaces that will be in contact with the blocks of the entire last row except the last block at one end (see photo 6A).

14

Place the blocks in the center and slide them to the ends (see photo 6B) and begin placing them at each end as done in the previous rows.

Apply a strip of silicone in the center of the visible side of the block and repeat the steps listed in points 6 and 7 until you reach the last block.

The ARS-H19 vertical separation will be dispensed with. Apply a small amount of ReadySil silicone both on the last vertical separation and on the horizontal profile. Do not apply silicone either on the upper surface of the last block or on the side of it where the vertical separation had not yet been placed.

17

readyblock-instalacion-12

Place the last block by pressing a little with the help of a screwdriver or spatula. Now apply the silicone around the last block as shown in the image, place a line of silicone along the center groove of vertical strip B and install the next block.

18

readyblock-instalacion-13

Adapt/flatten the silicone nozzle as shown in the image so that it can be applied in the space of the joint where the ARS-H19 vertical gap has not been inserted. Do the same in the spaces between the upper side of the block and the upper horizontal perimeter profile.

19

Align the last block and also check the entire alignment of the last row with the vertical joints of the rows below.

20

Once the placement of all the glass blocks is complete and, if you like, grout using the traditional system that is best described below * POSSIBLE GROUTING OF THE WALLS INSTALLED WITH THE ALUMINUM READYBLOCK SYSTEM.
